Natalie has a vast range of experience working in education and has always had a particular passion for ensuring children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities succeed.
Natalie develops and delivers a wide range of professional development opportunities to primary, secondary and special schools. She is an Associate Consultant for nasen and works with Whole School SEND (WSS) on the SEND review and MAT review projects. She develops and delivers training for RTA and Osiris and is involved in the primary Outstanding Teaching Intervention (OTI).
As an associate expert for Optimus' SEN Hub and for The Key for school leaders, Natalie regularly contributes to online articles and webinars. She is the author of 'The Perfect SENCO' and 'The Teacher's Guide to SEN' publications. She is a consultant governor for a large 4-18 school in Dubai and is also a trustee of Learn-AT multi-academy trust in the East Midlands.
Natalie was a member of the DfE Commission on Assessment Without Levels and continues to work with the DfE and Standards and Testing Agency to support assessment of pupils with SEND.
Natalie has had experience as an Interim Executive Headteacher in a Primary School. Prior to that, she worked for the National Strategies SEN Team as a Senior Adviser for Achievement for All, supporting the development of a highly successful programme aimed at improving outcomes for pupils with SEND. She has also been a Local Authority SEND adviser, supporting the strategic and operational development of SEN. Before this, Natalie was a primary teacher and SENCO.
